"Rupes"
"Photography has always been my way of seeing the world — from my first roll of film in a Canon AE-1 to chasing light across slot canyons and old-growth forests. The camera never really left me; it just waited."
Photography found David early. His first camera was a Canon AE-1 — a film body he carried through the old print days when shooting meant patience, chemistry, and commitment. Life pulled him away for a time, but digital photography brought him back with renewed purpose. Living in Seattle and Portland made the Pacific Northwest his natural subject: waterfalls, old-growth forests, rugged coastlines, and volcanic peaks became his backyard. He also spent years photographing the dramatic landscapes of the American Southwest — the slot canyons, mesas, and desert light of Arizona and beyond. Now based in Montana, David is evolving his vision toward grittier, more raw subjects — a new chapter that promises the same dedication to craft, with a harder edge.
